Pipedrive, a pipeline first and a CRM second

Pipedrive does one thing well: it shows a salesperson what is open and what to do next, in a view they will actually keep updated. It is the CRM salespeople choose for themselves. It is lighter on marketing automation and the phone side, which is where a service business often needs more.

Answered personally, usually the same day. If a CRM is not what you need, I will say so.

  • I have set Pipedrive up for clients and migrated from it. I have not run my own companies on it.
  • Scoped in writing, priced before work starts
  • Your account, your data, documented as it is built
  • Not affiliated with Pipedrive. No resale, no commission.

What Pipedrive is good at

First

A pipeline view that salespeople keep current, because it is fast and visual.

Second

Activity-based selling: every deal has a next action, and the tool nags until it is done.

Third

Simple pricing and a short learning curve.

Where it is the wrong tool

A business that needs marketing automation, texting and booking in the same tool. Those come through add-ons and integrations, and by the time they are wired up a bundled platform is simpler.

Who should pick it

Small sales teams with a longer cycle and a defined process, where the pipeline is the job. B2B, commercial services, anything with a salesperson on quota.

What a Pipedrive setup covers

Pipeline and stages, activity types and the next-action rules, deal fields, email sync, the automations Pipedrive does offer, and the reports. Plus a decision about what the phone side runs on.

Asked about Pipedrive

Our salesperson loves Pipedrive. Should we keep it?
Probably. A CRM the salesperson keeps current is worth more than a better one they ignore. The setup then focuses on getting the rest of the business, marketing, follow-up and phone, to feed it.
Can Pipedrive do lead follow-up sequences?
Basic ones natively and better ones through its campaigns add-on or an integration. If automated follow-up is most of what you need, a bundled platform does it with less wiring.
Does it work for a trades business?
For the sales side, yes. For scheduling crews, invoicing and the phone, no, and it does not try to. Those live elsewhere and connect.

Tell me what is in the way.

One form. Read by the person who would do the work. If a CRM is not the answer, you will hear that first.
