Zoho CRM, set up to work with the rest of the suite

Zoho is the best value in small business software and the deepest suite at its price. Books, Inventory, People, Desk and Sign all plug into the CRM. The catch is that the phone side is through integrations, and the depth means a lot of businesses configure a tenth of it and work around the rest.

Answered personally, usually the same day. If a CRM is not what you need, I will say so.

  • I run Zoho inside my own companies, including inventory and analytics for a jeweler. I know where it shines and where it needs an integration.
  • Scoped in writing, priced before work starts
  • Your account, your data, documented as it is built
  • Not affiliated with Zoho. No resale, no commission.

What Zoho CRM is good at

First

Price. Lower per-user cost than the alternatives and a free tier for tiny teams.

Second

Suite breadth. If you run Zoho Books or Inventory, the CRM belongs in the same place.

Third

Customisation. Custom modules, blueprints and scripting for businesses with real data needs.

Where it is the wrong tool

A business whose whole sales motion is inbound phone calls and needs texting and missed-call text-back working on day one. It can be done, through integrations, but it is more setup and more moving parts.

Who should pick it

Businesses already in the Zoho suite, retailers and dealers with inventory, and anyone with complex data who does not want to pay enterprise prices.

What a Zoho CRM setup covers

Modules and fields, pipeline blueprint, the connections to Books, Inventory or Desk, email and telephony integration, workflow rules, and the reports. If you are not already in the suite, the setup starts by deciding whether you should be.

Asked about Zoho CRM

We use Zoho Books. Should the CRM be Zoho too?
Almost certainly. The invoice-to-deal connection alone is worth it, and it is the strongest argument in any comparison with another CRM.
Can Zoho do missed-call text-back?
With a telephony integration, yes. It is not native the way it is in GoHighLevel, and that is the honest trade: more setup for a lower monthly cost and a wider suite.
Is Zoho too complicated for a small team?
It can be, if it is set up by someone who turns everything on. A good setup uses the modules you need and hides the rest. Most of the complexity is optional.

One form. Read by the person who would do the work. If a CRM is not the answer, you will hear that first.
